Cavity Wall

Why insulate?

Did you know that up to 35% of all heat loss from an average house escapes through the walls?

If your home was built from 1920 onwards it is highly likely that it was constructed using two brick walls with a small gap or 'cavity' between them.

By insulating this cavity you will prevent all that precious heat loss and at the same time you will make significant savings on your fuel bills. Therefore, as you will be using less energy to heat your home, you will be doing your bit for the environment too by reducing your carbon footprint!

applying insulation

Cavity wall insulation is normally applied from the outside.

A series of small holes are drilled following a set pattern laid down in the industry technical standards.

The glass fibre mineral wool is then pumped into these holes using a blowing machine.

The holes are then made good to match the existing finish as closely as possible.

Following installation you will receive a 25 year guarantee from the cavity insulation guarantee agency. This is an independent body which provides these guarantees for all work undertaken by approved installers.
